2/2/12 | CHEMICAL PROCESS ASSOCIATE | Duties include: Chemical bath passivation of metallic parts, Chem-Film coating of metallic parts, pre-weld cleaning of metallic arts in a solvent solution, Magnesium anodize of metallic parts in an electrochemical bath, electro-polish of metallic parts in an electrochemical bath, chemical titration testing to determine bath concentrations, Zinc plating of metallic parts, Heat scale removal in a solvent bath, pre-penetrant etch of welded structures, potting welded structures to encapsulate them in a polymer shell, Maintenance of chemical processing and related equipment, Updating records for operations completed. Qualifications: Must be trained in each duty/task prior to running production parts. Annual review and re-qualification is required for each discipline. High School Diploma, Minimum of 6 months prior related experience, such as: plating of metal parts, use of balance to make up solutions, operation and cleaning of transfer pumps, use a burette and pipette, calibration and use of eddy current thickness meters, interpreting process specifications, solution analysis, potting , some college chemistry preferred. Ability to lift 40 pounds. Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests as well as background check, able to successfully pass an annual eye exam, basic computer and filing skills. Sheet metal fitters/ Sheet metal mechanics must be experienced in fitting up assemblies for welding of turbine engine fabricated components. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Significant experience required on complex ducts, cases, etc. Materials vary depending on application. Must have own hand tools. This is not structural sheet metal.
